World Celebration

In Venezuela, Christmas is celebrated with a number of religious and traditional custom. Christmas festivities celebrate the birth of the child Jesus.

The main celebration takes place on Christmas Eve, "Noche Buena" as it is called in Spanish. Families get together to enjoy the traditional holiday meal: hallacas, pan de jamón, dulce de lechoza.

On December 25 children awake to find their gifts around the Nacimiento or the Christmas tree. Tradition has it that it is the Child Jesus who brings gifts to the Venezuelan children instead of Santa Claus.

My family and me we enjoy the dinner christmas, my brother and cousins receives many gifts and we dance with family.

We exchange gifts and go to visit the friends.

Local Celebration

The people of Maracaibo celebrate the Chinita's fair in November with an all-night party. One of the main city avenues, Bella Vista, is closed for several blocks and the city puts lights along the whole avenue. The lights stay up for months, until after Christmas. There are firework shows and street vendors, and hundreds of thousands of people line the streets and celebrate all night.

The Chinita’s fair officially begins on October 27th when the Virgin is taken down from the altar in which she rests. She tours all over the Zulia State and returns to the Basilica to start all the religious festivities. Around October 2nd, Bella Vista Avenue sees itself lit up by all the Christmas decorations and the local government promotes a series of public concerts with national and international artists to begin the “real” fair. Crowds of people flock together to the different stages or platforms devised to house such concerts.

My Birthday

My birthday is on April 11. I was born in 1993. I'm 17 years old.

In my birthday, my family and friends come to my home to celebrate.

We dance, eat lots of sweets and appetizers, we also talk and remember old times, is really fun.

We take photos, listen to music and drink liquor.

I like receiving gifts.

Then we sing my birthday and eat cake, I love this part of my birthday.

We share a lot.

Persona-poems

Welcome to my blog

In this blog I´m going to post my school work. I'm in the second   level of the english program at URBE. Hi everybody, my name's Dayana Quinto but you  can call me Nana.  I'm from Cabimas, originally.

I live in Maracaibo, in Villa Delicias, Beautiful Villa II. I’m 17 years old and I study Public Accounting.

I love God, my family, my country and travel.

I like reading the Biblia, see my boyfriend, eating pizza and  sushi, cooking marquesa, go to the movies, dancing with my friends, listening to all kinds of music, go to the beach, visit my friends on the weekends and talk on by phone.

In my free time I like sleep, do exercise and my brother's keeper, him is a baby.
I hate beer, smoking, violence, war, injustice.

My dream is to know different cultures and the tobby band. I want to be an excellent public account in a short time. I would like to speak several languages.

About English, in my opinion is an interesting language and so important in the actual world. I hope I can improve my english in this class and be an excellent student.

This is a little of me.. and remember, love, all things supporting, all believed, all wait, all hold. Love never fails. (1Corintios 13:7-8)
